We are coming to Resurrection Sunday. Jesus appeared to many after His resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:6 says He appeared to more than five hundred believers at one time.
The experience of seeing someone who you saw die, and now alive would throw your senses into overload. Not a ghost or a phantom, but a person. Like seeing a man walking across a stormy sea, then getting into your boat, it would be shocking, terrifying, yet exhilarating.
In Luke 8:26-37 Jesus cast demons out of a man, into a herd of pigs that subsequently went insane and drowned themselves. The story was so shocking to the people in the neighboring towns, they went to see Jesus and the man that was possessed. The transformation was so dramatic, the people asked Jesus to leave their region. What they saw, they could not handle. The presence of the anointing was overwhelming!
The power of The Presence can be overwhelming yet, we supposedly talk to a resurrected Jesus every day, and it seems that it has little impact on us at all!
How different would our prayers be if Jesus actually appeared in front of us? Would we say the same old prayers …
- Jesus, help me have a good day.
- Jesus, bless my kids.
- Help me at my job.
- Deal with my spouse.
- I need more money, blah, blah, blah, …
Is that how we would speak to Him if he physically appeared in your room? Somehow, I don’t think so.
I think we would ask for miracles! It is time we asked for miracles!
Is the resurrected Messiah with you? Are you a little awestruck in your prayer time because the Almighty is with you in your prayer closet? You should be because He is!
-Blessings.
