On To Perfection!

There are so many unknowns in our crazy world it is easy for us to be shaken. It is astounding that something as small as a virus can bring the mightiest nation to its knees. Fear makes people irrational. Listening to the news to find truth is confusing because of the conflicting “facts” that are bombarding us. Is there hope that we will get through this without a meltdown?

In Philippians 1:6 Paul says, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” NASB

The confidence Paul found is a wonderful thing. It gave him, and now gives us, support when instability surrounds us. But confidence must be established in truth. There is an old saying, “great confidence in a weak board will put you in the creek.” Fortunately, we have confidence in God, His Word, and His great and precious promises.

“Perfect” in Greek means complete, full, accomplished, in every area. The good news for us is that God is the One that is completing the work started in this “new creation” and it is not done in our strength. From our vantage point we certainly do not see this work being completed. But our confidence is not in ourselves or what we see from our vantage point. Our trust is in the One who knows and sees all, and He cannot fail!

Blessings!
