God’s love created the universe and all the living creatures in it. God’s love set the people He created free. This freedom wasn’t (and isn’t) handled well. Humans continue to choose destructive paths and then make excuses for those choices. As we watch people make poor choices, we shake our heads and turn away.
Genesis 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of mankind was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually. 6 So the Lord was sorry that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 Then the Lord said, “I will wipe out mankind whom I have created from the face of the land; mankind, and animals as well, and crawling things, and the birds of the sky. For I am sorry that I have made them.”
8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
God had compassion. God’s love moved Him to make a plan for the redemption of His creation – God’s own Son bearing their sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21; “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
2 Corinthians 5:14; Paul said, “The love of Christ control us.” KJV – “The love of Christ compels us.” God’s love is by its very nature active. Does the love of Christ push you to love others? More, does the love of Christ compel you to love those that deserve the misery they are in because of their bad choices?
The love of God in your heart can be measured by the love you have for those suffering from their own bad decisions. My encouragement to you today is to allow God’s love to move you into action and be a light to others.
Blessings.
