Always Flowing

Jesus said in John 7: 38 “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them”. 39 By this he meant the Spirit.

Having the Holy Spirit in our lives has consequences. The Spirit opens portals that connect our spirit with a heavenly anointing. We are given access to an eternal refreshing. What is heaven like??? Are we living in it today? Are we drinking from the Spirit? Does “Rivers of living water” describe you? Can you say you had “rivers of living water flow from within you” yesterday? Well, what about the day before? Maybe the day before that?

This flow from the Spirit is not automatic. It requires us to be in a position to experience the flow.

Isaiah 58 tells us how to get into that never ending stream. The process is the same as proper fasting. Not the fasting that makes you edgy and irritable, but the fasting that sees other people. True fasting moves us to serve.

Isaiah 58:6 To loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke. 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter; when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

Verse 10 is the key —

If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.

If you spend yourselves, then you receive blessings.

[Important note – Your faithfulness and your fruitfulness may come from two completely different areas in our lives. We are called to be faithful to a task, but the blessings of life and joy may come from some other area of our lives.]

Here is the conclusion to servanthood, this is the reward God promises to those who follow His direction.

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. 9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. 11 The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

People are in bondage. They need help and prayer for deliverance. Curses need to be broken.

Commit to reaching out to someone near you. Pray/talk/encourage/befriend them and the anointing will overtake you.

-Blessings.
